Shamini's experience over the last 12 years has been with children, adolescents, and their families. She takes an integrative approach when working with children; some of the therapeutic modalities that she employs involve client-centered, cognitive-behaviour, and solution-focused therapies. Shamini believes strongly that many opportunities must be provided for the child to succeed.

Shamini considers herself a lifelong learner; lecturing working adults in the evenings and learning together with them. She additionally supervises counselling practicum students from various universities. In her free time, Shamini loves to take walks with her newly-born twins, toddler, and her golden retriever, in one of Singapore's beautiful parks.
